A BIJ Legend

The Bible says... There is a time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to mourn and a time to dance.

Al was a loving husband and father for 30 years. Left behind with great memories is his wife Joyce, daughter Joanna and son AJ.

I met Al on the basketball courts about 30 years ago in Dyker Park in Brooklyn. He had great qualities on and off the court. He always came as a fan to watch the young players play and would always encourage them. He was a great fan of the game and will be greatly missed.

To all of us that are still here, we pray that you may know the love of Christ and what He has done for us on the Cross. Romans 10:9-10 says... "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that He raised from the dead, you shall be made new."

R.I.P. Sean Broomes

Sean lived in Vanderveer, Brooklyn and went to Robeson H.S. He played in B.I.J. back in the year 2000. He was a nice ball player and always had a smile on and off the court. He had a great attitude and will be missed here at B.I.J.  Our prayers go out to the family!

The Bible assures us that no person is beyond God's help and that no tragedy is so great that our Heavenly Father cannot comfort us. We must do some thing if we want comfort from God. How can a doctor help us if we never make an appointment? (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you! (James 4:8)

R.I.P. "V"

Luis V, you played the game of basketball better than most in B.I.J.. Win or lose, you never got nasty, and was always smiling on and off the court. You will be missed greatly! You were like a son to me and you loved the game and we loved you.

To All Of B.I.J.

Where will you go after this life?

As we have seen, no one is promised tomorrow, our lives can be over just like that. Only God knows our hearts, so accept Christ into yours and be guarenteed to spend eternity with Him! John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world(us) that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."

John 15:13

In Loving Memory of:

Joel Kaminer

2/5/1943-2/9/2016

Joel was loved by many, including his wife Ilene, daughter Ivy and sons Zach, Jonah and Jacob.

He was a great guy and a great fan of the game of basketball. He took pride in watching his son Jonah play. I would hear him coaching and yelling at his son and team on how to play the game. Bottom line, he was a positive influence and a blessing to B.I.J.
