BIJ/NBA Rules

 

- 3 technical fouls in a season is a 1 game suspension, then every tech after that is a suspension as well

- Game time is 20 min. after hour or 4 pts and  4 minutes off the clock                                                           

- Zones are legal, and no 24 second clock but 5 sec count in effect if closely guarded within 5 feet      

- Carries/travels only called if excessive

- No hand checking, grabbing a shirt is 2 shots and ball, cost of shirt if rips

- All players must wear a league shirt or 1 free throw

- No trash talking allowed, techs will follow. Trashing the gym chairs ect. will be a 1 game suspension, trashing the refs before, during or after the game can result in a 1 game suspension. Unsportsmanlike techs are 2 shots and the ball, unless free throws are coming or it happens on a time out, no loss of possession

- Clock doesn’t stop on techs unless inside 2 minutes

- Remember a delay of game for trash talking is different then a ball delay

- Crossing the line on defense or hitting the ball out of bounds, delay of game

- Flopping is a delay next one is a technical foul    

- Courtesy fouls or breakaway fouls must be done from in front  or it’s 2 shots the ball. Breakaway foul is in effect soon as we pass the top of key in the back court

   Note: A hard foul or grab can be deemed a flagrant foul, 2 shots and the ball

- 8 fouls is the penalty we shoot 2 shots, in the last 2 minutes of the game it’s 2 fouls till the penalty

- 6 personal fouls to foul out, but if only 5 guys, the 7th foul is a tech

- If a game is started and we can't continue for whatever reason, we will continue at a later date where we left off. No player, even if on roster, can be added to that game unless a player is injured and can't continue.

- Clock stops in the 1st half only in the last 10 seconds, and in the 2nd half the last 2 minutes, but in the last 10 seconds it stops on all baskets

- Mercy rule: 20 pt  lead with 2 minutes left or 30 pt lead  with 3 minutes left

- 03 seconds can only be a tap, .04 is a catch and shoot situation Teams get 4 time outs a game, all advance to mid court

- Throwing a punch, automatic ejection, 1 gm suspension, 2nd time player is out

- Continuation rule is 1 step after the foul.

- A tap is not a shot if fouled unless you have control

- You can run the baseline after baskets and free throws

- Open roster during the season, but all players must play 3 games to qualify for the playoffs unless approved by the league for injuries.
